Because of the diversity of our books and ephemera, shipping fees must be assessed for each order.

HOW TO ORDER : use the shopping cart.
An extra amount for USPS Media Mail shipping (and NC sales tax for NC residents) will be added to your total at checkout. Select a payment type, then fill in and submit the secure Order Form. This form will notify me of your order details. If you select to pay by credit card, we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. You will be asked to fill in the appropriate details. USPS Media Mail is the default shipping method. If you order a heavy book or a set of books, or you require Priority Mail, Express Mail, or insurance, we must request extra charges to cover shipping costs.
Postage for orders of single mass market paperbacks will be reduced from the shopping cart default value of $4.
You will receive e-mail notification of required postage.
TO PAY BY CREDIT CARD: Your card will not be charged until you approve the final amount. Credit card orders must supply a telephone number and 3 (or 4) digit security code. Credit card information is routed through an SSL secure site. Approved charges will appear on your credit card statement as [email protected]
TO PAY BY PAYPAL: Do not send payment through PayPal until you receive my PayPal invoice to confirm that the book you ordered is available. If the book is available and you have indicated you wish to pay using PayPal, I will send you a PayPal electronic invoice payable. You will then enter your card information at a secure payment site and I will never see it.
TO PAY BY GOOGLE CHECKOUT: Do not send payment through Google until you receive my Google invoice to confirm that the book you ordered is available. If the book is available and you have indicated you wish to pay using Google, I will send you a Google electronic invoice payable. You will then enter your card information at a secure payment site and I will never see it.
TO PAY BY CHECK or MONEY ORDER : After the amount of postage is verified, you may mail payment to: Chris Hartmann, Bookseller. 219 WA Harris Rd. Morganton, NC 28655-7021. If you send a check, your book will be mailed only after the check clears.
Shipping
Orders are normally shipped by the U.S. Postal Service. The shipping method default is Media Mail.
If you need Priority, Express, insurance or a non-USPS carrier, you can indicate this in the comment box at the bottom of the secure order form. I will email you for your approval of any extra amount required for shipping.
Minimum charges are as follows. Postage for large, heavy books will be more:

- Media Mail (Paperbacks).........$3.50
- Priority Mail (Hardbacks).........$6.50
- Priority Mail (Paperbacks)........$6.00
FedEx or USPS Express Mail service is available at additional cost.
International shipping rates are based on location and package weight. All international orders must inquire.

Returns
Books may be returned within 10 days only with prior notice if not as described.
